Shasta/Trinity National Forests

Back to Fed Fire

The Shasta Trinity National Forest is home to countless types of vegetation and geography. Surrounding Shasta Lake are tall mountains covered in forest. Here you will find the Shasta Lake Ranger District. The northeastern portion is home to the 14,000+ft Mt. Shasta including the McCloud and Mt. Shasta Ranger Districts. To the northwest inside the Weaverville and Big Bar Ranger districts are large granite outcroppings and wilderness. Within the Yolla Bolla and Hayfork Ranger districts in the southwest you can find the tall Coastal Range and the far corners of Tehama and Shasta Counties.
